Linda came into this world with a natural
fascination for the arts and an inherent desire to draw and paint. As a
child she spent hours out in Nature studying natural form and lighting affects
by drawing, coloring and painting. She was recognized for her artistic
talent at a very young age, and later chose Graphic Design as her Career path.
She started working at a young age in order to buy a set of oil paints, brushes
and a book on "how to paint". She spent hours practicing diligently until
she produced what she considered her first "real" painting. She has
expertise in all areas of visual art spanning fine art, illustration, design,
murals, public/environmental art, signs and vehicle graphics. She is
proficient in several mediums including pencil, pastels, oils, watercolors and
acrylics. Combining a wide mixture of techniques which include
air-brushing. She currently works mostly in acrylics on large-format
stretched canvas, and pastels and colored pencil on colored paper.
While she has a well-developed painting style,
she has evolved her art through several bodies of work that span several subject
matter and style of interpretation. She began primarily working on
landscapes and scenery, then progressed to include wildlife. She was then
inspired to create a series of angelic work which explored the human form within
an imaginary setting. She then began doing some inner exploration to
discover what her own personal style was for truly creating work that was
original to her. Work that was an exclusive creation of her own
imagination. This led to her newest body of work which expresses ideas as
symbolic imagery that contains whole ideas as a form of imaginative
story-telling. Work that has to be interpreted by the viewer as a means of
experiencing it. This stimulates the creative imagination of the viewer to
form a unique interpretation of what can be thought of as a universal theme.
She chose to end her career as a Graphic
Designer when it evolved to computer graphics that were created through
technological means that required very little actual talent and hours sitting in
front of a computer. She now pursues fine art and has an full line of fine
art prints on either watercolor paper or canvas to choose from. Because of
her life-long love for Nature and the "Great Outdoors", she has formed a
collaborative partnership with the Nature Conservancy and donates a percentage
of all art sales to the preservation of wildlife habitat and the protection of
pristine natural environments.
